Founder Stephen Barrows started studying engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology, but soon switched over to Product Design which satisfied his creative and hands-on approach. While in that program, he had the opportunity to study Scandinavian Furniture Design in Copenhagen, which cemented his interest in functional furniture with clean, simple gestures and a strong respect for material. He moved to Portland, OR where he and his wife Adrienne run Arrow Furniture Works.
